Workshop Manager

Location: BedfordSalary: 40,000 - 50,000 DOEOur client is looking for a hands-on Workshop Manager to join their team in Bedford. This is a varied role covering workshop management, engineering, maintenance, hydraulics, field engineers, stock and procurement. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be comfortable getting hands-on when required.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day workshop and engineering operationsProvide hands-on technical and engineering supportLead and support field/mobile engineersOversee maintenance, fault-finding and repairsUtilise strong hydraulics knowledgeManage stock, parts, tools and equipmentOversee procurement and suppliersSupport fleet and vehicle managementEnsure Health and Safety and compliance standardsOversee RAMS, LOLER, PUWER and inspectionsSupport engineer training and developmentIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtimeRequirementsStrong mechanical engineering backgroundStrong practical hydraulics experienceHGV licencePrevious workshop, maintenance or engineering management experienceExperience managing/supporting field engineersStrong fault-finding and maintenance skillsStock, parts and procurement experienceGood understanding of Health and Safety and complianceKnowledge of RAMS, LOLER and PUWERStrong customer service and communication skillsHands-on approach with the ability to get involved technicallySalary and Benefits 40,000 - 50,000 basic salary DOEFlexibility for candidates with ..... full job details .....
