Position: Technical Author (Engineering/ Technician)
Location: Crewe, UK
Duration: Until 31/01/2027 (Though likely to extend until 2029)
Pay Rate: Competitive - Outside IR35 (LTD) and PAYE options available.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days on-site)
*Full UK driving license required.
Are you ready to make your mark in the world of luxury automotive? Adecco is working in partnership with Bentley motors aftersales team and are looking for a Technical Author - Workshop Information to be a vital part of delivering world-class technical documentation for their prestigious brand!
About the Role:
In this exciting position, you will craft clear, engaging, and precise technical documentation that supports both customers and technicians around the globe. Your expertise will play a crucial role in the lifecycle of our client''s remarkable vehicles, from developing Workshop Information.
Key Responsibilities:
Workshop Information
- Develop and maintain repair information for mechanical and electrical procedures for new product launches and model year updates.
- Interpret Product Description Books (PDBs), Technical Product Descriptions (TPDs), and Engineering Change documentation.
- Ensure content is user-friendly, brand-aligned, and technically accurate.
Quality & Communication
- Ensure documentation meets internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product Planning, Legal, and Marketing.
- Support internal and external communications to promote Aftersales initiatives.
What We''re Looking For:
Skills & Experience
- Experience in the automotive industry with mechanical and electric procedures (Senior Technician, Master Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Automotive engineer)
- Proven ability to write clear, concise technical documentation for diverse audiences.
- Proficient in digital platforms and data management systems.
- Experience in external publication and catalogue systems preferred.
Knowledge Requirements
- Understanding of automotive products and retailer processes.
- Familiarity with automotive engineering and Aftersales practises.
- Knowledge of VW Group systems and legislative requirements beneficial.
- Proficient in handbook and illustration systems.
Qualifications
- Strong content writing skills
- Qualification in English
- Good knowledge of systems with minimal training provided
- Ability to arrange moving images/text for documentation
- Essential understanding of automotive parts
