Transport Technology - Workshop Engineer Location: Nottingham, East Midlands Permanent / Contract: Permanent Overview EMBS Talent is working in partnership with a global leader in intelligent transport technology, located in Nottingham, that is currently in the market for a Workshop Engineer to join their company on a permanent, full time basis. Our client supplies IT, ticketing and fleet management systems for buses and trains. More than 1,100 transport operators across Europe, the Americas, Australia, New Zealand and Asia rely on their systems every day. Your responsibilities will include: As a Workshop Engineer, you will diagnose, repair, refurbish and test the electronic and electromechanical hardware that keeps public transport running, including on-board computers, driver touchscreen displays, ticket validators and ticket printers. Based in the Nottingham repair workshop, you will carry out component-level PCB repairs, including through-hole and surface-mount work and IC replacement, and fix mechanical faults such as those in printer mechanisms. Around 80% of your time will be at the bench, with the remaining 20% on customer sites installing equipment and diagnosing faults on buses, trams and at tram stops.
