Workshop Engineer

A well-established civil engineering and construction contractor is seeking an experienced and proactive Workshop Engineer to support its internal plant maintenance operations based in Telford. Workshop Engineer Job Overview

• Carry out servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a fleet of heavy plant.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults efficiently.
• Complete all workshop-based engineering tasks to meet safety, quality, and time standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities using electronic systems.
• Liaise with operations teams to schedule repairs and minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation and internal policies.

Workshop Engineer Job Requirements

• Proven experience working as a workshop or plant engineer within construction, hire, or industrial settings.
• Strong fault-finding skills and hands-on expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with health & safety practices in workshop and site environments.
• A team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.

Workshop Engineer Salary & Benefits

• -50,000 - -53,000 per annum dependant on experience
• Mon to Fri 07:00 - 18:00
• Employer pension contribution
• 23 Days holiday + Bank holidays
