Workshop Controller

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a highly skilled Workshop Controller to join their busy dealership located in Barnstaple. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to oversee workshop operations within a reputable motor trade environment. The ideal individual will possess strong management skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

• Basic salary of up to -35,000 per annum, with an OTE of approximately -40,000
• Monday to Friday working hours from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Duties of a Workshop Controller:

• Manage and organise the workshop schedule to optimise productivity and workflow
• Support and lead the workshop team to ensure efficient vehicle repairs and maintenance
• Liaise directly with customers regarding vehicle repair updates and costs
• Maintain high standards of workshop organisation, health, safety, and compliance
• Assist technicians with diagnostics and troubleshooting as needed
• Ensure all workshop processes adhere to manufacturer and health & safety standards

Requirements of a Workshop Controller:

• Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or Workshop Manager within the motor trade
• Excellent leadership and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
• Full UK driving licence is essential
• A proactive and customer-focused approach to workshop management
