Workshop Controller , you will effectively manage workshop loading, efficiency, productivity, and quality, while meeting customer expectations through teamwork, ensuring that commercial and operational requirements are considered at all times. Responsibilities include:Ensuring all service customers’ requirements are handled efficiently, considering time scales and costsManaging the workshop to ensure Technicians are fully utilisedMaximising sold hours in line with company targetsOverseeing work experience placement students and apprentice training and supervisionEnsuring Technicians are familiar with service and workshop bulletinsUpdating Technicians with relevant company information, policies, and announcementsMaintaining strict control of warranty administrationEnsuring all work is accurately costedCarrying out precise invoicingPromoting and implementing the ISO quality policy and requirements of the quality systemPromoting the Company Health and Safety Policy, maintaining tidy and efficient work areasLiaising with Service Advisors and Parts Department regarding workshop loading, special orders, and requested completion timesCore Accountabilities as Workshop ControllerUnderstanding and assisting in the delivery of Business Strategy and ObjectivesProviding a high level of service to internal and external customers, business partners, and suppliersTaking ownership of personal development needs to meet business requirementsLeading and motivating the team, fostering an environment for individual and team growthApplying appropriate management controls and system exploitationAdhering to company policies and proceduresAbout youTo succeed as a Workshop Controller, you should have / be:Strong knowledge of vehicle technologyPrevious experience in a similar environmentThe ability to manage a team of 10 techniciansExcellent communication and liaison skillsAbout the rewardsThe role offers a weekly working schedule of 46.25 hours, starting at 8:00 am and ending at 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with 1 in 4 Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. The basic salary is up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, with a bonus of approximately £13,000+.
