      <description>Location: Manchester | Salary: &amp;pound;450/day | Type: Contract | We are currently recruiting for a Freelance Works Manager to join a well-established, multi-million-pound civils contractor delivering a number of major infrastructure projects across the North West.  This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Works Manager with a strong civil engineering background to take responsibility for the successful delivery of enabling works and early-stage construction activities, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Agents, engineers and subcontractors.  The Role  As Works Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme, specification and quality requirements.  The role will have a particular focus on enabling works, including the preparation and development of construction areas ahead of the main works.
