WORKS MANAGER - HIGHWAYS MAINTENANCELocation: Luton, BedfordshireStart Date: 05/10/2026Contract End Date: 30/04/2027Rate: 500 per day Umbrella PAYECIS / LTD: May be consideredContract: Freelance / ContractWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Works Manager to join a major highways maintenance programme in Luton.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced highways professional to take responsibility for the successful delivery of capital construction schemes, working closely with the Programme Manager, Client and wider delivery teams.The role will involve managing operational resources, ensuring schemes are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, with individual projects valued up to 500k.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage delivery resources to ensure the successful completion of capital construction projects up to 500k. Manage Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. Work closely with the Programme Manager and Client to define the Annual Plan / Contractor''s Plan and deliver against agreed commitments. Manage the delivery phase of highway schemes from commencement through to completion. Coordinate operational teams, subcontractors and resources to ensure effective project delivery. Monitor programme, quality, safety and performance throughout the delivery phase.
