About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Works Manager to lead and oversee highways, earthworks, and utility projects at our Calvert site in Milton Keynes. The ideal candidate will have proven hands-on experience in managing complex civil engineering works, ensuring compliance, safety, and quality standards are met across all activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise site operations for highways, earthworks, and utilities projects.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily construction activities to meet programme deadlines.
• Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to maintain smooth project delivery.
• Manage resource allocation, including workforce, plant, and materials.
• Report progress, risks, and issues to senior management.
• Ensure relevant certifications and documentation are maintained and up-to-date.

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience in highways, earthworks, and utility projects.
• Proven track record in site/works management roles.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CPCS, or equivalent) essential.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, health & safety regulations, and CDM compliance.
• Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors effectively.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension based on performance and project needs)
• IR35 Status: Inside IR35
