Works Delivery Manager

Are you an experienced Rail Works Delivery Manager with a background in reactive maintenance projects or rail civils works?
 
Do you have experience managing teams and delivering works on structures, drainage, fencing, and vegetation within rail frameworks?
 
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum DOE + company car (or allowance)
 
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading contractor who is building their team in Sheffield. You will be working on various Network Rail reactive maintenance projects, focusing primarily on steel and brickwork repairs, strengthening works, drainage, fencing, vegetation removal, and scour repairs within the Eastern region.
 
The role will see you support project delivery, working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients. You will be given full responsibility for managing gangs, planning works, and ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standard, within budget, and on time.

Key Responsibilities for Works Delivery Manager:
·Oversee and manage the delivery of reactive maintenance works for Network Rail, focusing on structures, drainage, fencing, vegetation, and other civils works.
·Lead the planning, coordination, and scheduling of works, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
·Manage and allocate resources, including site teams and subcontractors, ensuring that all works are completed efficiently and within the required timescales.
·Support cost management, including tracking budgets, raising purchase orders, and ensuring margin control.
·Conduct audits, ensuring full compliance with regulations and company procedures.
·Regularly report on project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
·Promote and enforce safe working practices, ensuring HSEQ compliance at all times.
 
Requirements for Works Delivery Manager:
·Experience in a relevant role (Works Delivery Manager, Site Manager, or similar) within rail or civils works.
·Experience working on rail reactive maintenance projects or frameworks, or other civils projects within the rail industry.
·PTS and SMSTS certifications.
·Line management experience, with a strong ability to coordinate and manage site teams.
·Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, and cost management processes.
·Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites.
Desirable:
·Experience working within rail civils frameworks (e.g., Network Rail or similar).
·Previous experience managing or supervising teams in reactive maintenance works.
·Exposure to structured HSEQ environments or producing RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements).
·COSS, NEBOSH, and TWC certifications.
