We''re looking for Winter drivers to join our Transportation team across Northamptonshire. Do you want to be a highways hero? Keeping the UK moving during the winter months. Location: Wellingborough, Brixworth or Towcester, Northamptonshire Contract: Fixed term zero hour contract to April 2025 - Flexible days / nights - Call out and weather dependant Salary: £22.50 per hour - Weekly pay + Standby of £17.55 per shift Monday to Friday / £35.09 per shift Saturday and Sunday We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Winter Service team during the 2026/2027 winter season. You''ll be working on an on-call basis, driving a gritter on the public highway on our Northamptonshire contracts. With competitive rates of pay including standby pay and enhanced weekend rates, you''ll play a vital role in keeping our roads safe during winter conditions. This role offers a wonderful opportunity to develop new skills, with full training provided towards a winter service NVQ qualification. What will you be responsible for? As a Gritter Driver, you''ll be working within the Winter Service team, supporting them in keeping the highway network safe during winter weather conditions.
