Our work contributes to the future of environmentally sustainable aircraft. Based in Filton, Bristol, this role is part of a worldwide team dedicated to supporting our customers around the clock. The Wing Repairs team covers the entire Airbus commercial fleet, from the remaining A300s to the latest A350s. We also collaborate on the design of new aircraft to ensure they are easily repairable and research the latest manufacturing methods, such as additive layer, to create new repair parts.You will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of highly experienced engineers across a variety of disciplines, gaining hands-on experience in repair design, static stress, and fatigue and damage tolerance. This is a great chance to connect with people from different organizations and play a key role in supporting our global fleet.What you will be doing
As an Intern Engineer you will develop the core skills needed in the wing business and your future development:Static stress analysis, from first principles to finite element modellingFatigue and damage toleranceDesign—CATIA tools, configuration management and digital mock upDigitalisation—automating processes using coding skillsProject management through working with repair teams on a variety of projectsBusiness and financial knowledgeLeadership skills through working on projects with a broad range of people and nationalitiesCustomer focus through working with our Customer Service organizationRequirements
Our placements are open to undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.Your application should include a CV along with a cover letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role.Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:Studying or studied a degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical EngineeringGood knowledge of coding and data analysis techniquesPassionate about aerospace and the challenges of the civil aircraft marketAre sensitive to client needs and can develop good client relationshipsNaturally curious and excited to exploreExcited to work in a dynamic and changing environmentProficient oral and written communication skillsCollaborate well within a teamSecurity clearance
