What will I be doing?

As a Wheel Lathe Operative, you will be operating the wheel lathe machine, which is used primarily to reprofile and the maintenance of the wheels. Typical duties will include:

• Operating and programming the wheel lathe machine
• Measuring and inspecting wheels
• Making sure the lathe and associated tools are properly maintained
• Reading technical drawings
• Ensuring safety and compliance is upheld at all times to company standards

Hours wise, the shift will be operating on a 4 on 4 off basis, covering days & nights.

What do we need?

• 1-year minimum experience as a Machinist
• Must complete a criminal convictions questionnaire as part of the application process
• Be able to pass a DBS
• Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
• Be able to pass a full rail medical – this will include, eyesight, hearing, heart, lungs, etc…
• Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
• Happy to help mentality/attitude.
