Welfare Support Manager

  • Location: Hove (Hybrid Working)
  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Rate: -20.66 per hour
  • Duration: ASAP until 30 November 2026
  • DBS: Standard DBS Required

We are recruiting for an experienced Welfare Support Manager for a lcoal authority to support the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of a welfare support programme.

This role requires someone who can quickly become operational and work independently. There is an immediate requirement to complete Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) reporting, so candidates should be confident managing data, reporting deadlines and stakeholder engagement from the outset.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the collection, validation and submission of management information returns.
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data and produce reports.
  • Maintain and develop monitoring systems, databases and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Monitor programme performance, outcomes and expenditure.
  • Produce evaluation reports, case studies and performance information.
  • Support the delivery of projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain project documentation, including risk registers and action plans.
  • Act as a key point of contact for programme-related enquiries.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organise stakeholder meetings and engagement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and audit trails.


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Significant experience in monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, performance reporting, or project management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience collecting, validating and analysing data.
  • Strong report-writing skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage workloads independently.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements.


Desirable Experience

  • Local government or public sector experience.
  • Experience working on grant-funded programmes.
  • Experience within welfare, revenues and benefits services.


Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid working with 2-3 office days per week.
  • Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
  • Candidates must be able to hit the ground running, with CRF reporting required shortly after starting.
