Job title: Welding Supervisor
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Salary: -40,00045,000 per annum
Hours of work: 40 hours per week, between 07:00-16:00
Type of Contract: Permanent (On-Site)

Are you an experienced welding professional with strong leadership skills? We''re looking for a Welding Supervisor to join our fabrication department and play a key role in leading and supporting our team of welders. This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on technical expertise with team management, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards and on time.

You''ll act as the link between the shop floor and management, driving productivity, quality, and health & safety, while fostering a motivated and positive workforce.

The company are only considering an experienced leader who has previously managed production teams. This role will have you managing a team of up to 15 staff.

It is also essential that the successful candidate is familiar with quality standards as you will oversee all products produced by the fabrication team.

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Oversee the daily running of the welding & fabrication workshop, including hands-on work
  • Supervise and support a team of welders, liaising closely with the Production Manager
  • Coordinate daily work schedules, allocate tasks, and resolve arising issues
  • Inspect welding work to ensure it meets drawings, codes, and company standards
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant workshop environment
  • Take responsibility for health & safety compliance, tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Lead by example, promoting a positive, proactive, and solution-focused culture.


What We''re Looking For: -

  • Relevant welding qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience supervising a team
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement processes, i.e. LEAN, Six Sigma etc.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fabrication, welding, and engineering principles.
  • Familiar with quality procedures & previous inspection knowledge
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with a commitment to quality and deadlines
  • Full UK driving license, with occasional UK/overseas travel required
