FINTEC recruit is seeking an experienced Welding Engineer for our engineering oil and gas client based in Highland region, north of Inverness. This is a permanent role, salary negotiable by experience plus benefits. There will be some travel overseas with this role for projects, enhanced rates are paid when on project assignments overseas. Responsibilities: Control of all documentation associated with weld procedure specifications, qualifications, records and welder qualifications Review welding specifications at bid stages and perform welding inspection duties on an ad hoc basis Review and endorse welding consumable Test Certification and review Weld Procedure qualification documentation welding manuals Ensuring company management procedures are carried out. Continual reviews of welding techniques/procedures and the introduction of improvements to operations Management Project welding procedure qualification activities and maintain weld procedure registers Monitor production welding activities and trouble shoot any potential issues Evaluate causes of welding failures and implement corrective actions Attend regular operations and safety meetings as required.
