Welder

Our client, based in Washington, is seeking an experienced Welder. You will join the team as a permanent worker. You will work 38 hours per week: 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The hourly rate is 16.50. Job Responsibilities Perform welding, inspections, painting and other fabrication duties, as required by business needs. Fabricate and weld steel sections, brackets and associated components using welding processes. Interpret and work from engineering drawings, jigs and templates to produce steel sections to specified dimensions and tolerances. Prepare materials by cutting, bevelling, drilling and fitting sections, plates and stiffeners prior to welding. Set up welds correctly, including selection of appropriate consumables, parameters and welding sequences for the material and thickness. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and BS EN 1090 requirements for UKCA-marked structural components. Play an active role in arranging and carrying out day to day housekeeping rotas. Maintain dimensional accuracy of fabricated steel sections, including bearing lengths, hole/slot positions and bracket alignments. Carry out self-checking and basic visual inspection of welds and support any further inspection as required by QA.
