Job type: Welder / Fabricator Pay rate: PAYE: £18.26 per hour LTD: £23.86 per hour Hours: Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:00 Friday: 08:00 - 15:30 Total: 37 hours per week Location: Durham County Council Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to undertake metal fabrication, installation and repair work on plant, vehicles, and facilities. The role involves working within a workshop environment and occasionally on site, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Manufacture and repair structural metalwork to meet operational requirements. Carry out welding, fabrication, installation, and repair work. Support routine inspections and maintenance of workshop and depot facilities. Assist workshop staff with repair and maintenance activities. Ensure all work equipment is inspected and maintained in line with health and safety legislation. Complete job documentation and records accurately. Maintain compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards. Requirements Experience in metal fabrication and welding. Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications.
