Job Title: Weighbridge Operator

Location: Skelmersdale- WN8 0DD

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay: -14.50

Job Purpose:

To manage the day-to-day operation of the weighbridge at a busy waste management facility, ensuring accurate weighing and recording of all vehicle movements. The role supports compliance, safety, and operational efficiency across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the weighbridge system to weigh all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
• Accurately record vehicle weights, waste types, and driver details using weighbridge software.
• Issue tickets and documentation in line with company and legal requirements.
• Liaise with drivers, site operatives, and external hauliers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Monitor vehicle movements to ensure compliance with site rules and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for reporting and auditing purposes.
• Assist with general administrative duties including data entry, filing, and report generation.
• Ensure the weighbridge area is kept clean, safe, and operational at all times.
• Report any system faults, discrepancies, or safety concerns to the site manager promptly.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a weighbridge or waste management company.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic IT skills, including familiarity with weighbridge or logistics software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of waste management processes and health & safety regulations.
