Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated Web Developer to join an exciting design agency with the head office in central Birmingham. This company has been working in the creative sector for over 30 years and has built up an excellent reputation. The role is suitable for someone looking to progress their career and who can hit the ground running.The position will be more front-end focused, with an understanding of PHP preferred. The role involves working on custom WordPress websites from start to launch based on a Figma file, with a degree of autonomy.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and templates from design to deployment
Work with a headless CMS setup and Twig templating
Implement web markup using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
Utilise Sass, Gulp/Webpack and frameworks such as Tailwind
Use React/Next.js and GraphQL where appropriate
Manage DNS records and hosting equivalents (WHM and cPanel)
Follow SEO best practices and implement code accordingly
Collaborate in an agency environment to deliver digital solutions
Qualifications / Experience
Experience building custom WordPress themes/templates
Experience with Headless CMS setups
Proficiency in HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
Experience with Sass, Gulp/Webpack and frameworks such as Tailwind
Experience with React/Next.js and GraphQL
Knowledge of DNS records, WHM and cPanel
Understanding of SEO principles and how to implement code for good SEO
Experience in an agency environment is essential
