We’re recruiting for a Water Treatment Engineer to join a leading building services provider at a prestigious commercial office building in East London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a stable, Monday-to-Friday role within a well-established organisation, with ongoing development and opportunities for career progression.
Role Overview As a Water Treatment Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and compliance of the building’s water systems, with a particular focus on cooling towers and closed-loop systems. You’ll ensure all water treatment processes are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with relevant legislation and water hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing water treatment systems, including cooling towers and closed-loop systems.
- Carrying out routine water sampling, testing and monitoring.
- Implementing water treatment programmes to prevent scaling, corrosion and bacterial growth.
- Inspecting, cleaning and maintaining cooling towers.
- Monitoring chemical dosing systems and maintaining water quality.
- Identifying and resolving water treatment issues.
- Ensuring compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274 and relevant Legionella control requirements.
- Maintaining accurate records of water testing, maintenance and compliance activities.
- Producing reports and providing updates to site management.
- Previous experience in water treatment, particularly working with cooling towers.
- Good knowledge of closed-loop systems and Legionella control.
- Relevant water treatment qualifications, such as City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent.
- Understanding of ACOP L8, HSG274 and water hygiene legislation.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good organisational, record-keeping and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Up to £45,000 per annum.
- Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm.
