Salary: £27,000 – £33,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Watford and surrounding areas
Full-time | Permanent
Hours: Circa 37.5 hours per week | Overtime paid at time and a half

Our agency is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for a Water Hygiene Technician to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced or developing technician to secure a long-term role within the water hygiene and compliance sector, working across a variety of commercial sites.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance and water hygiene duties to ensure compliance with Legionella control standards across client properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks for Legionella control
- Conduct temperature monitoring of hot and cold water systems (including plant and distribution)
- Perform shower head cleaning, descaling, tank cleaning and system disinfection
- Inspect water system assets including cold water storage tanks and calorifiers
- Carry out TMV (Thermostatic Mixing Valve) checks, servicing and basic adjustments
- Take water samples for microbiological analysis in line with procedures
- Identify and report any non-conformances or compliance risks
- Carry out minor remedial works such as dead leg removal and system improvements
- Work in accordance with company method statements, RAMS and health & safety procedures
- Accurately complete site reports and documentation
- Liaise professionally with site contacts and clients regarding works and findings
- Escalate any technical issues or remedial requirements to the office in a timely manner
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in water hygiene, Legionella control, plumbing or building services is preferred
- Good understanding of hot and cold-water systems within commercial environments
- Awareness of Legionella compliance guidelines (HSG274 desirable)
- Ability to work independently and manage daily site workloads
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving approach
- Good communication skills and professional customer-facing attitude
- Full UK driving licence essential
