Waste Operative LGV Driver / LoaderLocation: ExeterHours: 5 days out of 7 (including Saturdays as required)Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract - January 2026Salary: 14.82 per hourMain Purpose of the RoleTo support the Waste Operations service through the safe and effective operation of a Class C Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) or equivalent, to load and transport controlled waste in accordance with service standards and regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive and load waste collection vehicles on scheduled rounds, following the team''s task and finish scheme.Ensure all collections are carried out in line with Health and Safety procedures and the Drivers'' Handbook.Comply with tachograph and Road Traffic Regulations at all times.Conduct daily vehicle checks, report defects, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.Use in-cab communication technology to receive instructions, record completed work, and log incidents (e.g., blocked streets, missed bins).Hold and maintain a valid Class C driving licence and Driver CPC qualification.Lead and oversee the crew, escalating performance or disciplinary issues as necessary.Assist loaders with the collection and emptying of bins and sacks when required.Be available to work Saturdays following bank holidays, Christmas, or during service disruptions due to severe weather.Carry out any other duties commensurate with the role of Waste OperativeRequirementsValid Class C LGV licenceDriver CPC qualificationExperience in waste collection or similar operational ..... full job details .....
