Job Title: Warehouse Team Leader – Entry Level

Location: Tewkesbury

Contract Type: Temp to Perm

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 on a rotating shift pattern

Rate: £14.12 per hour, increasing with training

My client is  looking for a motivated Warehouse Team Leader to support the smooth running of a fast-paced chilled warehouse operation within the food distribution sector.

You’ll receive full training and mentoring to build your leadership capabilities while helping coordinate daily warehouse activities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high standards of performance, health & safety, and product quality are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Warehouse Supervisors in overseeing the daily receipt, picking, and despatch of chilled food products.
• Lead and motivate a small team of Warehouse Operatives, encouraging strong teamwork and communication.
• Monitor and control stock movements, checking product codes against picking tickets to maintain accuracy.
• Ensure all loading and unloading of vehicles is carried out safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised chilled warehouse environment in line with food hygiene standards.
• Communicate effectively with management and other departments to ensure smooth operations across Production, Haulage, and Distribution.
• Assist with monitoring staff performance and development, helping build capability within the team.
• Provide cover for Warehouse Supervisors during absences or holidays when required.

About You

• A strong communicator who can build positive working relationships across departments.
• Motivated, proactive and keen to develop leadership skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organisation and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work flexibly across shifts and adapt to changing priorities in a busy warehouse environment.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in FMCG, food, dairy, or chilled warehouse logistics.
• Current Forklift or PPT licence (training can be provided).

Training & Development

You will complete structured training including:

• Level 2 Food Safety
• Level 2 HACCP
• Level 2 COSHH
