Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 DOE
Overtime paid at time + ¼
The Opportunity
A well-established and growing technical distribution business is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to support the smooth running of its busy warehouse operation.
This Warehouse Supervisor role offers the opportunity to work within a specialist environment handling a wide and varied range of engineered products and components. The Warehouse Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining operational standards, supporting team performance and ensuring efficient logistics processes.
Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will contribute to maintaining a highly organised and effective warehouse function within a fast-paced commercial operation.
This is a hands-on position suited to a Warehouse Supervisor who enjoys being actively involved in day-to-day warehouse activity while supporting and guiding a team.
The Role
As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will support all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and high service levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising day-to-day warehouse operations including goods-in, picking, packing and dispatch
- Supporting the Warehouse Manager and deputising when required
- Coaching and developing warehouse staff through regular 1-to-1 meetings and performance appraisals
- Leading by example through hands-on operational involvement
- Coordinating dispatch schedules, deliveries and internal logistics requirements
- Investigating stock discrepancies and resolving operational issues
- Carrying out quality checks and ensuring adherence to internal processes
- Maintaining high standards of organisation, housekeeping and safety
- Supporting performance management, return-to-work processes and team development
- Acting as an escalation point for warehouse-related operational challenges
About You
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or senior warehouse role
- Strong operational knowledge across warehouse functions
- Experience leading teams including conducting 1-to-1s and performance reviews
- Practical, hands-on leadership style with strong problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working with varied product types and manual warehouse systems
- Forklift experience (Counterbalance or Reach) desirable
Working Hours
- Standard hours: 9:00am to 6:00pm
- One early start per week (approx. 7:30am)
- One Saturday morning in four (8:30am to 12:00pm)
- Overtime paid for hours worked above 40 per week
- Salary £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience
