About the Role

The Warehouse Operator role in Newton Aycliffe involves receiving customer orders, verifying stock, and picking items to specification. You will prepare goods for dispatch by assembling, addressing, and arranging transport, alongside loading and unloading trucks, railway cars, or aircraft. Moving materials using handling equipment and entering product information into the computer database are key tasks. As an experienced PIV driver, you will complete duties inside and outside the site, maintaining records of shipments. This temporary position, paying up to £18.46 per hour, requires working with the wider team and following standard procedures.


Job Responsibilities

  • Receive and read customer orders to identify items to be pulled and verify stock availability.
  • Pick and assemble orders in accordance with specifications on the order form.
  • Prepare items for shipment by assembling, addressing, stamping, and arranging transportation of products.
  • Load and unload trucks, railway cars, or aircraft as required.
  • Move materials within the warehouse or storage facility using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Enter product information into the computer database and complete basic data entry accurately.
  • Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Operate as an experienced PIV driver to complete a range of tasks both inside and outside the site in a timely manner.
  • Work effectively with the wider team, following generally defined procedures and taking direction where required.
  • Manage time effectively to meet daily dispatch and fulfilment deadlines.

Required Skills andamp; Qualifications

  • Warehouse and order fulfilment experience, with 1-2 years preferred.
  • Experienced and licensed PIV driver (mandatory).
  • Valid PIV licence covering Reach, Counterbalance, and Manrider (mandatory).
  • Strong safety awareness and the ability to work to site procedures and safe working practices.
  • Good attitude and flexibility to support operational needs across shifts and tasks.
  • Time management skills and the ability to complete tasks promptly and accurately.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and system updates.
  • SAP experience (mandatory).
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy.
