About the Role
Rapier Employment is recruiting Warehouse Operatives for a busy distribution centre in Chesterfield, with temp-to-perm opportunities available. These full-time, temporary roles suit people with VNA or Reach Truck experience, though applicants lacking MHE certification are equally welcome if willing to learn. Shift options include 4 on / 4 off days (06:00–18:00) or nights (18:00–06:00), Monday to Friday permanent nights (22:00–06:00), and Monday to Friday rotating shifts (06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00). Pay starts at £12.71 hourly, rising to £13.13 for qualified MHE Operators, plus a night shift bonus where eligible and overtime at 1.5 times. Duties cover picking, packing, and general warehouse tasks; reliability and a willingness to develop new skills are essential.
WAREHOUSE OPERATIVES

We are particularly interested in candidates with VNA or Reach Truck experience. However, applicants without MHE experience are also welcome, provided they are willing to learn and develop new skills.
Available Shift Patterns
4 on / 4 off – Days
06:00–18:00
4 on / 4 off – Nights
18:00–06:00
Monday to Friday – Permanent Nights
22:00–06:00
Monday to Friday – Rotating Shifts
06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00
Pay Rates
- Warehouse Operative: £12.71 per hour
- MHE Operator (VNA / Reach): £13.13 per hour – when qualified.
- Additional hourly night shift bonus for eligible night shifts
- Overtime paid at 1.5 times the applicable hourly rate
- Previous warehouse experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Willingness to learn case picking and general warehouse duties.
- Must be willing to train on VNA or Reach Truck equipment in the future.
- Reliable, motivated and keen to develop new skills.
All candidates must be willing to become multi-skilled. Experienced MHE Operators will also be required to learn case picking, while unskilled candidates must be willing to train on VNA or Reach equipment in the future.
