Port Warehouse OperativeLocation: Immingham Port Job Type: Full-time / Permanent / Shift-based (12 hour shifts) Salary: 12.21 - 15.07 per hourThe Port Warehouse Operative plays a key role in the smooth handling, storage, and movement of cargo through the port facility. This involves working closely with shipping, transport, and customs teams to ensure goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently, safely, and in compliance with port regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive and unload cargo arriving by ship, road, or rail, following port security and safety procedures.Accurately check and record incoming goods against manifests and documentation.Handle breakbulk, containerized, and palletized cargo safely using appropriate equipment.Pick, pack, and prepare goods for dispatch in line with shipping schedules and customer requirements.Load outgoing containers and vehicles efficiently, ensuring correct weight distribution and securing of cargo.Support customs clearance processes by ensuring correct labeling, documentation, and segregation of goods.Operate port-specific equipment such as reach stackers, forklifts, and container handling gear (where licensed).Maintain warehouse and quayside areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.Follow strict health and safety, port security, and environmental procedures at all times.Assist in stock control, inventory checks, and movement records using port systems or handheld scanners.Communicate effectively with vessel crews, ..... full job details .....
