Warehouse Operative - Shipping & Dispatch

Location: Heysham (Shore Road) | Onsite

Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00 (37.5 hours per week)

Pay: -13.20 per hour (approx. -25,407.53 salary equivalent)

Overtime: Available | Start: ASAP 6 Month contract

We''re recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturing and distribution business in Heysham, for a Warehouse Operative - Shipping & Dispatch (Days) to support busy UK and export shipping operations. This role suits someone hands-on and reliable, with great attention to detail and a strong focus on safety and quality.

What you''ll be doing

• Picking UK and export orders from the relevant warehouses using pick lists, reporting any items that are not acceptable
• Packing and labelling goods exactly to procedure, ensuring compliance with transport regulations
• Collating export shipments, ensuring loads are accurate and all paperwork is completed correctly
• Using third-party systems (e.g. courier services) and working with shipping documentation such as MSDS
• Keeping stock of consumables topped up in your area and following the correct requisition process
• Operating equipment you are trained on, and reporting defects/issues to a Team Leader/Manager
• Maintaining accurate records and paperwork required for the role
• Working in full compliance with site security, Health & Safety, and environmental/quality procedures (EMS/QMS)
• Getting involved in continuous improvement/Lean activities (Kaizen / 5S)
• Supporting with other reasonable duties in line with your skills and experience

What we''re looking for

Essential:

• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality
• Basic IT literacy (comfortable completing records and using systems)
• Full working proficiency in written and spoken English
• Dependable, safety-conscious approach

Desirable:

• Previous warehouse/dispatch experience
• Familiarity with Kaizen / 5S / Lean ways of working
• Experience handling and packing chemicals (beneficial, not essential)

PPE / working environment

• Onsite role in Heysham
• PPE provided on site
