An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Operative to join an established, forward thinking fabric’s supplier. The organisation prides itself on having strong community and social values.  

 Main Duties

• PICKING, PACKING AND DISPATCH OF ORDERS –

GOODS TO BE PACKAGED / REWORKED TO MINIMISE SPACE USED AND RE – UTILISE PACKAGING MATERIALS WHERE POSSIBLE 
 

• GOODS RECEIPT –

GOODS TO BE CHECKED OFF AGAINST DELIVERY NOTE AND VERIFIED. DELIVERY NOTE TO BE HANDED IN TO WAREHOUSE OFFICE – ORDERS RELEASED ACCORDINGLY.
 

• REACH TRUCK OPERATION AND UPKEEP –

SENSIBLE USE OF TRUCK–  REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND CHECKS TO BE CARRIED OUT TO ENSURE ECONOMICAL RUNNING.
 

• WAREHOUSE UPKEEP AND MAINTENANCE –

SPACE CONSOLIDATION TO ENSURE MAXIMUM COST BENEFIT PER SQUARE FOOT OF WAREHOUSE SPACE. GENERAL CLEANLINESS, REUSE OF MATERIALS AND PALLETS ETC.
 

• INTER-WAREHOUSE TRANSFERS –

MAXIMISE VEHICLE LOADS AND ENSURE FULL STOCK LEVELS AT BOTH LOCATIONS WHERE NECESSARY
 

• LOCAL DELIVERIES WHERE NECESSARY –

WITHIN LOCAL AREA FOR SMALL CONSIGNMENTS TO MINIMISE CARBON FOOTPRINT
