The Warehouse Operative position in Haydock offers a full-time, temporary role with a salary of £13.69 per hour. Warehouse Operative – Ambient, Chilled and Freezer Environment
Location: Haydock
Pay: £13.69 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 14:00 – 22:00, 37.5 hrs per week
Start: Immediate
Contract: Temporary with a strong possibility of permanency for the right candidate
All candidates must pass a drug and alcohol test and a DBS check
A leading player in the supply chain industry is recruiting multiple Warehouse Operatives for its Haydock Distribution Centre. You will be responsible for fulfilling customer orders by selecting and preparing products for shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working in ambient, chilled or freezer environments (PPE and additional breaks provided)
- Reviewing order requirements
- Picking products using hand scanners
- Operating manual handling equipment (pallet trucks, PPTs, trolleys)
- Loading vehicles for delivery
- Keeping the work area clean and safe
- Collaborating with team members to meet daily targets
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing environment
- Positive, “can-do” attitude
- PPT experience
- Willingness to work in chilled or freezer areas
- Understanding of Health & Safety standards
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good literacy and numeracy
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must pass a drug and alcohol test and a DBS check
