Position: Warehouse Operative

Location: Byfleet

Salary: £13.84 (£27k annual salary)

Duration: 3 Months

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm

Overview of a Warehouse Operative

As a Warehouse Operative, you will support the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring stock is received, stored and dispatched accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with internal teams and customers while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and compliance.

Responsibilities of a Warehouse Operative

• Assist with receiving, checking and recording stock, reporting any discrepancies or damages promptly.
• Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately, ensuring all required documentation is included.
• Support stock rotation, stock takes, temperature recording, cleaning and general warehouse administration.
• Work in accordance with company SOPs, GDP guidelines, security procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
• Liaise with internal departments and stakeholders to ensure delivery requirements are met and support ongoing warehouse improvement activities.

Key competencies of a Warehouse Operative

• Previous experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment is desirable, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Flexible team player who can also work independently, prioritise workloads and make decisions when required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel, with previous ERP experience such as Oracle advantageous.
• A valid counterbalance/flexi forklift licence and driving licence would be beneficial.
