About the Role

This temporary Warehouse Operative role with Manpower UK is based at Castle Donington (East Midlands Gateway), paying up to £13.45 per hour, initially until the end of January 2027. Working shifts will involve scanning freight during loading and unloading to keep tracking and inventory records accurate, checking paperwork against consignments and reporting discrepancies, and inspecting incoming goods for damage or poor packaging before escalating concerns to the Team Leader. Duties also cover storing freight in designated racking using WMS putaway logic, carrying out stock control tasks such as consumable counts, pallet audits and cycle counts, and replenishing ground floor locations. Candidates should have previous warehouse experience, attention to detail, and confidence using warehouse management systems. An immediate start is available.

Manpower are seeking an experienced warehouse operative with an immediate start to work for our client based at Castle Donington/East Midlands Gateway, initially until end January 2027.

Main duties will include:

Scan all freight during loading and unloading to maintain accurate tracking and inventory control. Verify that paperwork matches consignments and report any discrepancies promptly to maintain data integrity. Inspect incoming freight for damage or inadequate packaging and escalate issues to the Team Leader.
Store freight in designated racking locations or zones, following WMS putaway logic to optimise space and accessibility. Conduct stock control activities including consumable counts, pallet audits, and cycle counts to support inventory accuracy. Replenish ground floor stock locations and operational equipment as required to maintain workflow continuity.
Identify and handle hazardous consignments in compliance with safety regulations and company procedures. Report any unsafe freight conditions or potential hazards to the Team Leader immediately. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and yard environment in line with health and safety standards.
Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to pick, pack, and ship products accurately and efficiently. Assemble Groupage and Sandwich pallets according to customer-specific Value-Added Service (VAS) instructions to meet quality and presentation standards.
Deliver excellent service to internal and external stakeholders by resolving issues proactively and maintaining a professional approach. Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and support a positive team culture.
Accurately record working hours using the attendance register to ensure compliance with shift schedules and payroll accuracy. Receive and follow instructions from the Team Leader via internal systems, ensuring alignment with daily operational priorities.

What we are looking for:

* Recent warehouse operative experience (min of 2 years)

* A reliable, hardworking individual with good timekeeping skills

* Possession of an FLT licence (counterbalance andamp; REACH) would be advantageous

* Previous experience in using SwiftLOG (Warehouse Management System) is desirable
