Warehouse Operative

We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our client based at Follingsby Park.

Working as part of the Packing and Dispatch team, you will be responsible for packing and preparing finished parts for dispatch, as well as carrying out quality checks before products are sent to customers.

The role would suit someone with previous warehouse, packing or manufacturing experience who has good attention to detail and is comfortable checking work to specific requirements.

Duties will include:

• Packing and preparing finished parts for dispatch
• Checking finished parts against works orders
• Carrying out visual quality inspections
• Checking that all required operations have been completed
• Identifying defects or parts that are out of specification
• Checking critical measurements and features
• Using measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers
• Reading technical drawings, with training provided where required
• Recording part numbers, works order numbers, quantities and details of any defects
• Taking photographs of defects and reporting them to the relevant colleagues and managers
• Helping to resolve quality issues where required
• Working to deadlines while maintaining accuracy
• Carrying out other warehouse and packing duties as required

About You

The successful Warehouse Operative will ideally have previous experience within a warehouse, packing, manufacturing or quality environment.

You should have:

• Good attention to detail
• Basic computer skills
• The ability to work accurately and independently
• Good communication skills
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• A flexible approach to a varied workload
• The confidence to identify and report problems
• Previous experience using a micrometer or vernier would be an advantage
• The ability to read technical drawings would be an advantage, although training can be provided for the right person

This is a varied role combining warehouse, packing, dispatch and quality inspection duties, so accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
