Warehouse Operative – Temporary Role in Sittingbourne

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a busy warehouse team in Sittingbourne on a temporary basis.

This is a physically demanding role and would suit someone who is fit, reliable, and comfortable with heavy manual handling. The main focus of the position is unloading lorries containing large and bulky furniture items, so applicants must be prepared for regular heavy lifting throughout the day.

Typically, there will be one delivery in the morning and one in the afternoon. Between deliveries, you will also support the warehouse team with picking, packing, and general warehouse duties to help ensure the operation runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Unloading incoming lorries containing large, heavy, and bulky furniture items
• Carrying out heavy lifting and manual handling on a daily basis
• Assisting with picking and packing duties during quieter periods
• Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy, and well organised
• Working in line with all health and safety procedures
• Supporting the wider warehouse team as required

Requirements

• A good level of physical fitness and the ability to carry out heavy lifting consistently
• A reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Previous warehouse experience would be an advantage, but is not essential
