Hales Group are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join our client''s busy and well-organised warehouse team. This is a great opportunity to become part of a stable, supportive operation where accuracy, efficiency, and a proactive approach are valued every day.
 
Location: Hertford
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
Basis: Permanent
Salary: 26 - 27K (DOE)
 
Key Responsibilities
Goods Inwards & Outwards

• Receive incoming deliveries, check quantities, and ensure all paperwork is passed to the Warehouse Manager.
• Operate the forklift to safely load, unload, and store goods neatly within the warehouse.
• Prepare outgoing shipments and load the courier each evening, ensuring all labels and documentation are correct.

Order Picking & Stock Maintenance

• Pick and pack customer orders with a high level of accuracy.
• Dispatch orders with the correct paperwork and documentation.
• Sort, stack, and organise boxes to maintain a tidy and efficient workflow.
• Support stock control by monitoring levels and notifying the Warehouse Manager of any low-stock items.

Housekeeping

• Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment through regular sweeping, dusting, and removal of waste.
• Ensure aisles, work areas, and storage zones remain clear and well-organised.

General Warehouse Support

• Answer incoming calls occasionally and take clear messages when required.
• Prepare sample packs as requested by the team.
• Carry out additional duties as needed to support the smooth running of the warehouse and wider business.

 
Key Requirements

• Previous warehouse experience
• Forklift licence or experience operating a forklift
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work proactively and maintain a tidy workspace
• Reliable, organised, and able to work well within a team
