Our client is seeking an experienced- Warehouse Operative / Multi-Trade Operative for a contract on a project in-Merstham, Surrey. This vacancy is being advertised by a recruitment agency acting on behalf of the employer.

We are currently looking for a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative / Multi-Trade Operative to join our team on an immediate-start basis.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with warehouse experience, a valid forklift licence and practical building/maintenance skills. You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day warehouse operations as well as assisting with the construction and installation of E-House substations and general building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving, checking, storing and dispatching goods and materials
• Loading and unloading deliveries using a forklift
• Maintaining accurate stock records
• Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and efficient
• Supporting the build and installation of E-House substations
• Carrying out basic carpentry, decorating and general construction work
• Assisting with repairs, maintenance and installations
• Using hand and power tools safely
• Supporting general building and maintenance projects as required
• Maintaining a safe working environment at all times
• Following all company health and safety procedures
• Reporting any hazards, defects or issues promptly

Requirements

• Valid forklift licence
• Previous warehouse experience
• Practical experience in general building, construction or maintenance
• Multi-trade / hands-on skills
• Confident using hand and power tools
• Good problem-solving skills and a practical approach
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Reliable, punctual and able to work to deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to health and safety
