Our client is looking for an experienced Warehouse Operations Team Leader to join a busy specialist equipment operation in West London.

This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working on the warehouse floor while also taking responsibility for organising activity around them. You will help keep the operation running efficiently, support colleagues and make sure daily priorities are completed to a consistently high standard.

The role

Working as part of an established warehouse team, you will help coordinate the day-to-day flow of equipment and orders through the operation.

You will remain actively involved in warehouse duties, while also helping organise workloads and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating daily warehouse priorities and allocating work across the team
• Supporting the receipt, checking, preparation and dispatch of equipment
• Making sure returned items are processed correctly and made ready for future use
• Maintaining accurate stock and system information
• Helping ensure equipment is stored correctly and available when required
• Identifying damaged, incomplete or unsuitable items and making sure they are dealt with appropriately
• Supporting stock control and helping highlight shortages or operational requirements
• Providing guidance and practical support to other warehouse team members
• Helping new or less experienced colleagues develop their knowledge of warehouse procedures
• Maintaining good standards of housekeeping, organisation and health and safety

This is very much a working Team Leader position rather than a desk-based supervisory role, so you should enjoy being directly involved in the operation.

What we are looking for

You will need solid previous warehouse experience and should already be comfortable taking responsibility within a busy operational environment.

Previous experience as a Team Leader, Senior Warehouse Operative, Warehouse Supervisor or someone regularly trusted to coordinate colleagues would be particularly relevant.

You should be able to organise your own workload and help others prioritise theirs, while remaining flexible when requirements change during the day.

Good communication skills, attention to detail and basic computer literacy are also important.

The nature of the business means that previous exposure to sound, video, lighting, staging, live production, specialist hire or other technical equipment would be particularly useful.

Candidates from other equipment-led environments where items are regularly issued, returned, checked and prepared for reuse may also be considered.

This could be an excellent next step for an experienced warehouse professional who enjoys being hands-on but is also ready to take greater responsibility for people, standards and day-to-day workflow.
