We are built around gold-standard service, reliability, trust and continuous improvement. After 20 years of growth, we are entering an exciting new period of expansion.

We are now looking for an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager to take overall responsibility for our warehouse and delivery operation and play a key role in the next stage of PDC's development.

The Role:

This is a hands-on management position with responsibility for the day-to-day running of our warehouse and logistics operation.

You will lead and manage our Warehouse & Logistics Assistant Manager, drivers, and warehouse operatives, ensuring that goods are received, stored, picked, loaded and delivered safely, accurately and efficiently.

You will be responsible for planning resources, managing workloads and schedules, monitoring performance and maintaining high standards of stock control, health & safety, and customer service.

Working closely with the Directors and wider management team, you will use operational data and KPIs to identify problems, improve processes and drive continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable being visible and hands-on within the operation, while also having the leadership skills and commercial awareness to plan ahead, manage performance and make sound day-to-day decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day warehouse and delivery operation.
  • Lead, motivate and manage warehouse and logistics employees, including induction, training, performance, and development.
  • Plan daily and weekly staffing, workloads, delivery schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Oversee goods-in, storage, picking, packing, loading, and dispatch operations.
  • Maintain high standards of stock accuracy and investigate discrepancies, damage, losses, and picking errors.
  • Coordinate delivery routes and schedules, responding effectively to customer requirements, traffic, vehicle issues, and staff absence.
  • Manage driver performance, vehicle checks, defects, incidents, and vehicle-related records.
  • Monitor operational KPIs including picking accuracy, delivery performance, stock accuracy, productivity, customer issues, vehicle utilisation, and staffing efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient warehouse, ensuring company health & safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensure appropriate training is completed, including manual handling, equipment use, safety procedures, and role-specific training.
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Service to resolve delivery, stock, and customer issues promptly.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce errors, waste and unnecessary costs and improve warehouse layout, workflow, and transport efficiency.
  • Provide regular operational and KPI updates to the Directors.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day operational problems and escalate significant matters appropriately.

About You:

To be successful, you will need:

  • Previous management experience within warehouse, logistics, distribution, or a similar operational environment.
  • Experience managing warehouse teams and/or delivery drivers.
  • Experience leading a team of around 10-12 people, or a similar-sized operational team.
  • Strong organisational, scheduling and resource-planning skills.
  • Good knowledge of warehouse processes and stock control.
  • Experience managing delivery schedules, routes, and vehicle operations.
  • Experience using KPIs to monitor and improve operational performance.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Experience supporting employee training, development, and performance management.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using business, stock, or warehouse systems.
  • A good understanding of workplace health & safety.
  • The ability to remain calm, organised, and decisive in a busy working environment.
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to work alongside the team when required.

What We Offer:

- A senior role with genuine responsibility and influence.

- A stable, family-run business with a strong track record and ambitious growth plans.

- The opportunity to develop and improve a growing warehouse and logistics operation.

- A supportive environment where ideas, accountability and continuous improvement are valued.
