Waking Night Children Residential Support Worker

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Waking Night Support Workers to join our team at Prospero Health and Social Care. Providing a nurturing and supportive home that delivers a safe and stable environment for young people.

Main Purpose of the Job:

• Provide overnight supervision and emotional support to one young person in in the home.
• Ensure a calm, safe, and structured environment throughout the night.
• Monitor and record well-being observations, incidents, and nightly routines.
• Liaise with day staff to maintain consistent care through effective handovers.
• Support with bedtime routines and any required interventions during the night.
• Complete light domestic duties to help maintain a clean and welcoming home.

What We''re Looking For:

• 12 months paid experience within the health and social care sector (working with children and young adults)
• Must be able to drive and has business insurance
• Happy to travel
• Accommodation provided
• Reliable, flexible and compassionate
• NVQ Level 3 in children and young people (desired but not essential)
• Social Care registered

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Part-time hours: 48 per week

Day range:

• Some weekends
• Monday to Friday

Physical setting:

• Residential home
• Sheltered housing

Shift:

• 12 hour shift
• Day shift
• Night shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Cardiff: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Childcare: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (required)

Work Location: In person
