Barclays . This role will be based in our Glasgow Campus. You would be involved in a multiyear greenfield project focused on building a next-generation eTrading platform that will redefine speed, scalability, and reliability in financial markets.Responsibilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure alignment with business objectives.Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.Stay informed of industry technology trends and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster technical excellence and growth.Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.Valued Skills

Strong experience in Java low-latency programmingExperience building enterprise-scale desktop and/or web applications within the investment banking domainKnowledge and experience of software development and collaborationTooling including Git, Bitbucket, Confluence, JIRA, etc.Ability to comprehend, implement, and influence complex problems with an analytical approachProficiency with Kafka and working knowledge of UNIX platformsFamiliarity with Agile Development methodologies, Test Driven Development and Continuous DeliveryQualifications and Capabilities
