Volunteer Creche Worker

CrossReach''s Bluebell Perinatal Service supports parents and families experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties. Alongside counselling, the service offers a therapeutic crèche, allowing parents and carers to attend sessions while their children are cared for in a calm, safe and nurturing environment. We are looking for volunteer crèche workers to join our supportive team in Glasgow. You will help care for babies and young children up to the age of five while their parent or carer attends counselling, providing reassurance, warmth and positive experiences for children. What your role will involve Setting up and tidying the crèche spaceOffering a warm welcome to children and parentsCreating a safe, calm and age appropriate environmentSupporting play, creativity and child-led activitiesCaring for young children, including feeding and nappy changing where requiredFollowing policies including confidentiality, safeguarding and health and safety What you will gain Experience within a therapeutic perinatal mental health settingTraining in understanding perinatal mood disordersA full induction to the crèche environment and ongoing supportThe opportunity to be part of a welcoming and experienced team About you You are caring, patient and compassionate, with an interest in supporting young children and families.
