Vocational Instructor - SEN/Alternative ProvisionThe Role:A specialist SEN/alternative Vocational Instructor will deliver practical, engaging activities to young people who may not thrive in a traditional classroom environment. These sorts of sessions are designed to develop pupils'' confidence, social skills, independence, employability and life skills.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging practical and vocational sessions.Adapt activities to meet individual SEN needs.Encourage pupils to develop practical and employability skills.Promote independence, teamwork and responsibility.Create a safe and structured working environment.Build positive professional relationships with pupils.Encourage pupils who may have disengaged from traditional education.Support pupils to recognise their strengths and interests.Monitor progress and provide feedback to the wider school team.Maintain appropriate health and safety standards.Work alongside teaching and pastoral staff.RequirementsPractical or vocational experience within a relevant industry.Experience working with young people is desirable.A recognised trade, vocational or industry qualification would be advantageous.Ability to demonstrate practical skills clearly and patiently.Strong communication skills.A creative and flexible approach.Confidence working with young people with additional needs.Commitment to safeguarding.Enhanced DBS required.Why Choose Veritas Education:Market leading Education Recruitment company covering the West ..... full job details .....
