Visual Inspector - Glasgow (South Side)
About the Role
We''re seeking an experienced Visual Inspector to join our team in south Glasgow. In this role, you''ll ensure components meet customer requirements through precise visual and dimensional inspection using tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges. You''ll document inspection results, identify non-conformances, raise NCRs, and support cross-functional quality efforts.
This is a full-time position, requiring day and night shift availability (Monday to Friday).
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Goods In, First Off, In-Process, Pre/Post Subcon, and Final Inspections
Perform and record visual and dimensional checks
Raise and process non-conformance reports
Support First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
Calibrate and check measurement equipment
Process and assess customer returns
Interpret engineering drawings and quality standards
Work closely with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams
Promote continuous improvement, 6S, and Zero Defects (ZD) culture
Follow all Health & Safety and Environmental procedures
Essential Skills & Experience
Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings
Proficient in manual measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Knowledge of CMM (setup, interpretation, reporting)
Calibration and inspection processes
Manual handling, slings, and lifting equipment usage
Strong computer literacy
Understanding of HSE standards and AS9100
Experience with continuous improvement and 6S principles
Familiarity with problem-solving tools
Desirable
Auditing experience
Awareness of critical part inspection
Aerospace and Defence background
Strong understanding of visual and manual inspection techniques
