Visitor Engagement Assistant
Hereford Cathedral is recruiting a Visitor Engagement Assistant to join its Visitor Engagement Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract funded by the Cathedral Sustainability Fund. This varied, people-focused role will support the cathedral''s ministry of welcome and help provide an excellent, inclusive experience for visitors, pilgrims, volunteers and group organisers. Working closely with the Visitor Engagement Manager, you will welcome visitors, support the Box Office Desk, assist with ticket sales and bookings, coordinate group visits and visitor activities, and help keep visitor areas and information well presented. You will also support volunteers on duty, including Guides, Museum Volunteers and Welcomer Volunteers, through rotas, communication and day-to-day guidance. The post is 19.5 hours per week on an alternate-week pattern: 10:00-17:00 Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday one week, then 10:00-17:00 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the next. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, with time off in lieu for agreed overtime. Salary is £23427 (FTE) per annum, with an 8% employer pension contribution.
