MS710 - Vehicle Workshop Technician 

Location: Runcorn

Salary: £36,800 - £43,000 per annum

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Vehicle Workshop Technician on behalf of one of our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out inspection, diagnosis, servicing and repair of vehicles, trailers and plant equipment.
• Work within the workshop or via Mobile Service Vehicles (MSVs) as required.
• Perform maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines and DVSA standards.
• Complete all work to a minimum MOT standard.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Test functionality of vehicle systems and components.
• Deliver cost-effective repairs within agreed budgets.
• Complete job cards and maintenance records using tablets/PDA devices.
• Conduct road tests to confirm safety and performance.
• Provide roadside support and breakdown assistance when required.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

• City & Guilds or NVQ in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Full UK driving license and HGV License.
• Experience working with vehicles and/or plant equipment.
• Strong fault diagnosis and repair capability.
• Ability to follow procedures and use initiative.

Desirable:

• Experience across a mixed fleet of vehicles and plant.
• Knowledge of DVSA maintenance standards.
• Experience in mobile or roadside repairs.
