Vehicle Technician

Based at their head office location in Wickford, Essex they are seeking a vehicle technician will join a team working on a variety of jobs for their corporate clients. 

This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the role and tasks involved in the vehicle technician role. It is not a definitive list of activities required by the vehicle technician. 

The role benefits from a great workshop and a variety of staff events throughout the year. 

Responsibilities:

• Inspecting vehicles and diagnosing any required work.

• Discussing required repairs with the admin team and customers.

• Calculating the expected time for repairs.

• Repairing or replacing components as required.

• Road testing vehicles to test repair work or diagnose.

• Fitting and servicing vehicle accessories, including parking sensors, cameras, towbars and reverse cameras.

• Performing service and vehicle system safety checks.

• Performing vehicle maintenance tasks, such as changing oil and air filters, brakes, clutch, gearbox, suspension and diagnostics as required.

• Cleaning and maintaining the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.

• To carry out quality checks on all technician's work and discuss findings.

• When requested to visit off site locations and carry out safety guidelines are adhered to both personal and team health and well-being is kept in mind.

• Other duties as assigned.

Health and Safety:

• Obey company Health and Safety processes as per your Employee Handbook.

• Complete all required training courses relevant to your position.

• Ensure all your assigned Citation training modules are up-to-date, and refresh if you notice they have expired.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Level 3 qualification is required for this position.

• Proven experience in a similar role is required for this position.

• MOT testing experience would be advantageous.

• Full valid Driving Licence with 6 points or less.

• Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualifications.

• Maintain any required professional qualifications.

• Conduct yourself in a manner that protects the corporate image and integrity.
