Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (paid lunch break)

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Vehicle Paint Prepper to join our workshop team.

The Role

You will be responsible for preparing vehicles and body panels to a high standard before painting, ensuring surfaces are correctly repaired, finished and ready for the paint process.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Sanding and flatting vehicle panels to achieve a smooth, consistent finish.

- Carrying out filler and stopper work to correct surface imperfections.

- Masking and protecting surrounding panels, glass, trim and components.

- Cleaning and degreasing surfaces before primer and paint application.

- Applying primer and high-build primer where trained and authorised.

- Preparing plastic panels, bumpers and replacement body panels.

- Denibbing, polishing and completing finishing work where required.

- Inspecting prepared surfaces and identifying imperfections before painting.

- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

This is a paint preparation position. Full paint spraying experience is not required.

What We''re Looking For

- Previous hands-on vehicle paint preparation experience, ideally at least one year within a professional bodyshop.

- Confidence carrying out sanding, flatting, filler work, masking and priming.

- Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- A reliable, organised and professional approach.

- Good understanding of workshop health and safety.

A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Formal qualifications are welcome, although practical experience and proven ability are equally valued.
