Are you an experienced mechanic looking for your next challenge?

We are expanding our engineering team at Gatwick Airport and are looking for skilled mechanics to maintain and repair a wide range of specialist Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

Ideally, we're looking for experienced GSE Mechanics or HGV Mechanics. However, our client is also keen to hear from experienced Vehicle Mechanics / Auto Technicians with strong mechanical skills who are looking to develop their career working on specialist airport equipment.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on unique airside vehicles, including aircraft tugs, towing tractors, baggage handling equipment, passenger steps, belt loaders, and other specialist GSE that keeps one of the UK's busiest airports operating efficiently.

Vehicle Mechanic / Auto Technician- Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair a variety of Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately.
• Work safely and comply with all health and safety procedures.
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure equipment availability and minimise downtime.

About You

• Ideally experienced as a GSE Mechanic or HGV Mechanic.
• Experienced Vehicle Mechanics / Auto Technicians are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Electrical fault-finding experience is advantageous.
• Able to provide a 5-year checkable employment history for airport security clearance.
• Able to pass a basic criminal record check.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
