Vehicle Damage Assessor

We are recruiting for a Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator on behalf of our client, a well-established accident repair centre based in Newport.

This Vehicle Damage Assessor position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to join a reputable and busy bodyshop, where your skills will be recognised and rewarded.

Duties:

• Conduct manual and computerised vehicle damage estimates, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Liaise with insurers and customers to ensure estimates conform to requirements
• Maintain detailed records of all estimates carried out, identifying unauthorised work as the Vehicle Damage Assessor
• Secure authorisation for work not automatically approved and follow up on outstanding approvals
• Communicate effectively with bodyshop personnel regarding work scope and timelines
• Assess vehicles for total loss where applicable, in line with insurer instructions
• Adhere strictly to all Health and Safety policies and regulations
• Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained throughout the claims process

Requirements:

• Proven experience in vehicle estimating, ideally with a background in automotive body repairs
• Strong knowledge of estimating systems, preferably Audatex
• Automotive Technical Accreditation (ATA) or manufacturer training is advantageous but not essential
• Experience with Autoflow Bodyshop Management System is a plus
• Minimum of a UK driving licence with minimal points
• Individuals from paint or panel technician roles seeking career progression are encouraged to apply
